New England matched their best victory streak from the Tom Brady period as they defeated AFC East opponents the Jets by 13 points in the NFL

Rookie Henderson shone brightly with three scores as the Patriots secured an eighth consecutive victory for the first time since iconic QB Brady's last year with the team in 2019

Quarterback Maye passed for 281 passing yards and a TD, connecting on 25 passes from 34 throws

The win bolsters the New England's lead at the summit of the division as they advanced to nine wins and two defeats, with the New York bottom after slipping to two wins and eight losses

The visitors had gone in front at Gillette Stadium with QB Fields scoring a five-yard TD to cap the New York's opening drive

But the home team responded in the second period as Henderson rushed for two short rushing scores before the ball carrier caught a pass from Maye at the back of the endzone midway through the third quarter to push the score to 21 to 7

"That was a key occasion for him stepping up, and it's been fantastic for him to keep getting these reps," the quarterback commented on Henderson. "He desires to be excellent."

Justin Fields threw to John Metchie late in the third quarter to reduce the lead for the visitors but Andy Borregales converted a two kicks in the fourth quarter as the home side sealed the triumph
