19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been earned on hardcourt

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev claimed his initial championship for nearly 30 months with victory over Corentin Moutet in the tournament championship match.

The athlete, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a difficult period, managing just a single victory at the Grand Slams and undergoing a meltdown at the American major.

The player's inconsistency on the tennis tour - and struggles with his service game in particular - led to him exiting of the world's top 10 and finally separating with long-term coach his previous coach.

Presently training with his coach and his other coach, he has gradually improved in the last few weeks - culminating in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over opponent Moutet.

This represents the player's initial championship since the Rome competition and first on a hardcourt from March of the previous year.

Victory also indicates he has won 21 victories at twenty-one various competitions.

"This marks the first occasion I'm at a competition with my two daughters simultaneously, so to win a trophy is particularly special," stated ranked player Medvedev.

"This title is in tribute of my second daughter her name, because the initial championship I won when my child Alisa was born was for her."

Medvedev, the former major winner, had lost his last six finals, including in the German tournament earlier this year.

The player's defensive strategy and regular outbursts on court had caused some to wonder if his ability to compete at the highest level was finished.

Yet the athlete has implemented adjustments in the past month, attempting to advance forward and perform assertively, backed up by an improved serving game.

The champion recovered from a deficit in the initial set against the difficult Moutet, securing 4 of the last five games to gain the advantage.

The pair exchanged break points in the following set before Moutet, striving for his maiden professional title, took control to push for a third set.

He defended four early-game opportunities in a competitive deciding set before Medvedev broke to fifteen to secure the win.

Fittingly, the winner secured the win with a shot at the net, with the Frenchman unable to handle a shot after over two and a half hours.
